This year at the Derby Day Affair, we’re having a one-of-a-kind fashion show! We are presenting three fashion sets combining runway, pedestal, stairway and cafe elements. Each set shows vintage treatments of Derby Attire from the 20’s, 40’s and 60’s and is followed by current interpretation of these eras with today’s designers. The best part is that all apparel and accessories can be purchased on site! So if you like what you see, you can buy it right after the show ends. And some of the money goes back to our charities!
The Retailers Bringing the Fashion Show
Each of the segments of the fashion show will showcase one retailer. Second Debut, a division of Goodwill Industries, will be providing men’s clothes for each era. The clothes have been selected from their newly expanded men’s department and hats for each decade segment will provided by Designs by Shelly Wade.
Luxury Garage Sale will showcase the 1920s segment. They are a designer consignment brand bringing you stand-out, authentic, new, and vintage pieces.
Mona Williams will feature 10 outfits in the 1940s segment. The outfits are a mix of both current and vintage pieces and each will be paired with shoes!
Autumn’s Village will provide looks for the 1960s-1970s. The business specializes in Vintage Women’s Clothing, hats, costume jewelry, and wardrobe stylists.
And Stephanie Lake Jewelry will be matching accessories to 24 of our fashion show looks. Stephanie Lake is the fifth scholar in the world to earn a Ph.D. in Decorative Arts, Design History, and Material Culture and her jewelry and interiors are informed by her work as a curator, archivist and auction specialist. Each piece is one-of-a-kind!
